Ella's Story
Little Ella Hensley pictured above, is 7 years old. She was born two months premature and suffered a grade 4 brain bleed at birth. She also suffers from multi-cystic hydrocephalus, which is a condition resulting from malformation in the brain during fetal development. That has resulted in her having cerebral palsy and cortical blindness.
Ella has no control over her body.
Ella's dad Sean has been working for R-Tech Construction of Lansing, Illinois as a carpenter for the last 13 years. R-Tech is a firm owned by Sean's father, Reid

During the summer of 2011 Reid was contacted by Mark Brennan of Yes! Plumbing and asked if he would help out with a bathroom remodel for Debra Clapperton. He responded in the affirmative and both he and his son Sean helped out with the project. That is how Sean learned of the Joseph Groh foundation, which was also involved in helping Debra Clapperton.

Ella's needs are very draining from a financial standpoint. Sean now works part time in order to be able to take care of Ella during the day. Sean's wife is a school teacher and carries insurance for the family, which does not receive any state assistance for any of Ella's services. The Hensley's were finding it more difficult to transport Ella's wheelchair down the 7 steps from their house, particularly in the harsh northern Illinois winters. Sean p
Thanks to all of your donations, the foundation was able to grant Sean's request.
