Frances Glueck
Frances' Story
Early in the pregnancy, there were indications that France’s could have some
serious medical complications. The deeply held faith of her parents gave them much
strength and joy as they anticipated the arrival of baby Frances. She is the fourth of
five children, and her parents believe she has taught them what love truly is.
Frances was born with a genetic condition, a deletion and addition on chromosome 5.
This caused cognitive, developmental and physical delays along with some significant
medical complications!
Her condition is lifelong, and her parents were trying to convert their garage into a
handicapped accessible bedroom/bathroom. With France’s condition and her other
children, mom is unable to work outside the home. France’s dad, Andrew, has been
in the construction trades his entire life. After graduating from Texas A&M with a
Bachelor of Science in construction science, Andrew went to work as a carpenter for
a custom builder. Following that, he worked as a structural superintendent for a
commercial builder where he coordinated field activities for a 22-story medical
office building. He moved back to residential construction where he worked for
Pulte Homes, there he managed construction activities for a 50-home development
in Austin. For the past 17 years he has worked as a project manager for a
construction company in Columbus, Texas. There he has managed a number of
projects including the construction of a junior high and high school, an education
support center, a community center, KW International and more.
They petitioned our foundation for help with the garage transition, including
pouring the cement floor and providing HVAC for the space. A perfect application
for a mini split, Joe contacted Mark Kuntz, CEO of Mitsubishi Electric Trane.
Mark was immediately onboard, donating a 0.75 ton heat pump, 24 seer, variable
speed compressor with inverter technology and a high wall fan coil. See the pictures
below of both the concrete pour and mini split installation by Leon’s Electric &
Plumbing. Also the roll in shower, provided by others.
