Dallie's Story
Amarillo resident Dallie Thomas is typical, fun loving college student. Dallie attends school at West Texas A&M University in nearby Canyon, Texas.
All of that changed however on July 20, 2010.
Dallie was involved in a motor vehicle accident which left him a paraplegic. Seeking assistance from the Joseph Groh foundation, Dallie was looking for vehicle modifications that would allow all him to continue his studies as a commuter student. One of his uncle’s works for a paving contractor, and another is employed by an Albuquerque distributor providing equipment (sales, rentals and parts) to all construction companies specializing in large, earthmoving projects.
Due to the generosity of supporters, the foundation was able to grant his request.
The foundation provided funding for the purchase of a Bruno Stow-Away™ power transfer seat/wheelchair lift for Dallie's pickup truck, and hand controls for driving.
